Clinical Supervision: One-hour of supervision provided for every 20 hours of work

Camille Weas, an independent contractor with Cashman Center, offers a post-degree, pre-licensure training experience suited to Counseling graduates working toward licensure. This program is a two-year, structured training program. Post-master’s degree practitioner’s receive training in the provision of outpatient psychotherapy. The site offers practitioners with an opportunity to build their practice while engaging in individual supervision, small group supervision, didactic trainings, and monthly case consultation. Licensure/clinical supervision for post-master’s degree practitioners is with a BBHT approved supervisor.

As a Mental Health Practitioner within Cashman Center you will enjoy close, multi-disciplinary collaboration with professionals and other trainees.  Practitioners can expect to gain the majority of their post-degree licensure supervision during the experience, but are strongly encouraged to find at least some licensure supervision outside the clinic.

 

The Position

The Mental Health Practitioner position is open to pre-licensed clinicians looking to work on their declared licensure track within a clinical training program. Candidates with interest in working with young children, adolescents, adults (including couples and families) are especially encouraged to apply. The program offers participants a unique opportunity for post-master’s, pre-licensure practitioners to function in an applied clinical role as a Mental Health Practitioner in building a practice within the Cashman Center’s outpatient mental health function. The position is designed to be a two-year, temporary training program for trainees with master’s degrees in clinical counseling (LPCC licensure track) who are accumulating post-degree supervised work for licensure. This position will include carrying a caseload of outpatient psychotherapy clients in addition to attending training events within the clinic’s training program. This position requires flexibility in hours to meet clients and supervisees when they are available. This practitioner will likely be housed at either the Eden Prairie or Golden Valley locations.

 

Job Duties
Job duties include but are not limited to:
• Ability to provide clinical services to a wide variety of populations (i.e., ages, populations, diagnoses, etc.) under clinical supervision
• The provision of clinical services including conducting diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, psychotherapy, and discharge planning for patients of the center
• Attending and participating in individual supervision, monthly case consultation, business meetings, and other meetings as required 
• Providing intermittent didactics within center’s training program
• Compliance with clinic documentation standards
• Compliance with licensing board rules, Codes of Ethics, and DHS regulations
• Maintain professionalism in all interactions with staff, clients, and business associates 
• Keeping abreast of billing issues and discussing same with clients when necessary
• Assisting in intermittent peer-reviews of patient files
• Carrying psychotherapy caseload as defined by center
• Ability and availability to meet clients during times that work for them (typically at least 2 later evenings per week)
• Ability to work hours as scheduled by the center
• Ability to work a 5-day workweek
• Adherence to directives by applicable direct clinical and administrative supervisors
• Compliance with clinic and training program policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements
• A master’s degree in psychology, clinical counseling, or similar field from a regionally-accredited academic program.
• A declared licensure track in Minnesota with active pursuit of licensure attainment (full licensure not required)
• Compliance with respective board rule related to pursuit of licensure
• Reasonable progress towards licensure attainment within two years
• Ability and willingness to service clients primarily on an outpatient 
• Flexibility to meet when clients are available to meet (usually requires some evenings)
• Evidence of a high level of professionalism within the field
• Strong clinical acumen and judgment
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
• Ability and willingness to provide services to children, adolescents, and adults
• Ability to respect diversity and integrate issues of culture into case conceptualizations
• Ability to engage with clients who may be ambivalent about treatment
• Ability to adapt interventions to clients’ strengths, skills, and developmental levels
• Commitment to empowering clients to solve their own problems when necessary
• Ability to intervene decisively, when necessary, to protect client safety
• Ability to set appropriate boundaries and limits for best practice
• Ability to comply with clinic documentation standards

 

The Clinic
Cashman Center is a private, outpatient practice focused on the mental health needs of children, families, and adults. While the majority of our services are provided under the umbrella of managed care, we offer a sliding-fee scale that allows us to service those without insurance. Our four locations (Burnsville, Crystal, Eden Prairie, and Golden Valley) provide needed psychological services and holistic services (for mind and body) to urban, suburban and rural communities.
